Irish rocker Mark Daly – kicks starts 2026 with the release of his new single “In the Dark”

Having just finished touring the US and Canada with The Darkness, rising Irish rocker Mark Daly kicks starts 2026 with the release of his new single “In the Dark” — a high energy rock anthem about letting your guard down.

“In the Dark,” is an upbeat, emotionally charged rock anthem that pairs massive guitars and driving drums showcasing a new chapter for Daly. With killer guitar hooks, thunderous drums, and a bassline that hits you straight in the gut, there is also an intimate story about emotional risk and being vulnerable being told by Daly.

Daly explains, “‘In the Dark’ came from that intense back and forth feeling in a new relationship when you’re both playing it cool — trying not to show how much you actually care. I wrote it at a time when I was afraid that holding back might cost me someone I truly loved. It’s an upbeat, high energy rock anthem, but underneath the massive guitars and drums, it’s really about that moment you finally let your guard down and take the risk of being real.”

The single is accompanied by a music video filmed in Nashville that captures the band’s raw chemistry and playful spirit.

“Shooting the music video for ‘In The Dark’ was honestly the most fun we’ve ever had on set,” Daly shares. “We wanted to capture that energy — not take ourselves too seriously, just enjoy it and give people a glimpse of who we really are as a band. This video is us having a laugh, doing what we love, and letting our personalities shine through.”
