The Scratch today return with explosive new single Pullin’ Teeth – offering another glimpse into their forthcoming album ‘Pull Like A Dog’, set for release on March 13th via Sony Music Ireland / Music For Nations.
The Irish four-piece don’t hold back when it comes to pouring their heart and soul into each track on the new album, and it’s evident in ‘Pullin’ Teeth’ – a song that captures the band’s quintessential spirit of raw energy, relentless riffs, and unapologetic attitude.
Written on a North American tour, ‘Pullin’ Teeth’ began with a riff inspired by a much older song. The band had set themselves the goal of writing a tune they could start playing on that tour, and the whole thing came together within a few hours, debuting live to a rapturous response the same day.
“To be able to write a song that quickly and for it to feel that good kickstarted everything,” says Conor (guitar, backing vocals). “We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel on this album—it’s about taking the pressure off, reinterpreting ideas, and not overthinking things. It was very freeing for us.”
The new ‘Pullin’ Teeth’ video was filmed against the stunning backdrop of Iceland, by Conor Beegan while the band were in town for Iceland Airwaves. It’s a wild ride that captures the band’s true spirit—having the craic with locals, causing a bit of chaos, and soaking up the incredible Icelandic scenery.
Pullin’ Teeth drops ahead of a huge year for The Scratch. Following a stellar performance to close-out the iconic St. James Church at Other Voices, Dingle towards the end of last year, the band were recently named among The Independent’s ‘Top 10 Bands to Watch in 2026’. Additionally, the band announced their biggest Irish headline show to date will take place at Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on July 4th, they will also embark on a headline tour across the US, UK and Australia this April, before heading to Europe for festival appearances – continuing to cement their reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting live acts gaining international momentum
