‘BST’ is the latest installment from the Breezy iDeyGoke X Art of Algebra collaboration. The track is accompanied by a truly mind-bending music video directed by Mark Smyth, who also directed the Shark Award-nominated music video for ‘Praying on a Gamble’.
The single is taken from the duo’s upcoming EP, A Quantum Trip, which will be released on December 5th.
Following the recent release of ‘Felonious Monk’ last month, with ‘BST’ the duo return to the trip-hop inspired mood and atmospherics of their 2020 release ‘Praying on a Gamble’.
‘BST’ is a sonically dark and brooding track that transitions from more subdued and subtle verses to explosive choruses where the pair fire on all cylinders. Breezy’s lyricism recounts his personal experience of confrontation, adversity, faith and perseverance – “I can not be lazy, trying to detox from the ill matrix, yeah I went and got sacred”.
The video begins in a grimy cinematic setting where we find Breezy constrained in a neuro-linked chair where he is confronted by a mysterious woman who presents him with two pills. As Breezy swallows the pill of his choosing, the explosive track kicks-off and we are thrown into an intense, psychedelic sequence of events. Breezy finds himself in multiple ominous settings, including an interrogation room and a purgatorial training ground, before being awoken on a gurney in a morgue. Performed by leading Afro-Brazilian dancer Alessandra Azeviche, Breezy is constantly confronted by the haunting movements of the mysterious shaman who is both his psychological tormentor and his spiritual mentor.
The BST video premiered at the Disappear Here film festival in October 2025 where it was nominated for a best music video award. It has also been nominated for Best International Music Video at the 2025 Bogotá music video festival.
Speaking about how the track and music video came about, Breezy says: “BST is all about what it takes to truly achieve greatness. This is the idea that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master a craft – whether that’s an art form, a sport, or some other professional pursuit. We shouldn’t view the process as easy. It’s all about grit, determination, hard work and perseverance. While we may struggle under the weight of the task, and it can take its toll psychologically, our suffering and determination builds character and makes us stronger.”
Director Mark Smyth says: “BST is a meditation on obsession and creation – on what we sacrifice to reach something greater. It explores the beauty and madness that coexist in every artist’s pursuit of purpose. We wanted to stay true to the feel of the music, but elevate it to a new level of intensity. Visually, it’s dark and chaotic, mirroring the parts of the human experience we often tend to avoid. At its core, the message is one of resilience as Breezy ultimately draws strength and clarity from his journey.”
Art of Algebra says: “Personally, I think ‘BST’ is the most exciting thing we’ve done, both as a song and a music video. It’s the definitive track in terms of our sound, which I think of as an aesthetically dark, ambient and heavy form of trip-hop. Having Mark come on board as Director again was amazing, and I’m truly blown away by what has been achieved with the music video. Both Breezy and Alessandra’s performances are incredible, and we had an amazing crew of people on the shoot, led by producer Mark Coffey (Hot Coffey productions). We live in an era of media saturation, so the first thing we all said we wanted to do with the project was to make something that would stand out in terms of its aesthetic and production standards. I think we’ve succeeded in that.”
