Nuha Ruby Ra – returns with new single/video ‘Fetish 2 Forget’

Trailblazing East-London artist Nuha Ruby Ra unveils her gripping new single ‘Fetish 2 Forget‘ via Brace Yourself Records, which premiered on Huw Stephens‘ BBC 6 Music show yesterday afternoon. Produced by Nuha and Andy Savours (Black Country, New Road, My Bloody Valentine, Sorry), and mastered by Heba Kadry (Björk, Beach House, Slowdive), ‘Fetish 2 Forget’ marks a real step up in sound and vision and entwines the sultry essence of Sade with the raw intensity of Nine Inch Nails, crafting a spellbinding fusion that beckons listeners to the dancefloor with its irresistible allure. Accompanying the track is an equally striking music video directed by Nuha herself alongside Louise Mason and Ella Margolin.

Of the track Nuha says: “‘Fetish 2 Forget’ is a dance floor in a factory, with a few doms present. We’re at a warehouse party again, with other thoughts on our minds. The ‘wasted man’ is the same guy who’s likely playing his own song on guitar at 6 in the morning, but the essence of the song lies in the lyric ‘Freaks trying hard at life, we’re dancing on the line, we pray to see the light, when we whisper in the dark’.”

‘Fetish 2 Forget’ follows last month’s live session with The Line of Best Fit and is her first piece of new music since last year’s critically acclaimed Machine Like Me EP, which received gushing 4/5 star reviews from both DIY and Dork, features the BBC 6 Music playlisted single ‘SelfPortraiture‘, and received a plethora of early support from key tastemakers including BBC 6 Music’s IggyPopLaurenLaverne, and SteveLamacq, BBC Radio 1‘s Jack Saunders and BBC Introducing‘s Jess Iszatt.

Having played a plethora of prestigious festivals both on home turf and abroad including GlastonburySXSWThe Great EscapeGreen ManWide AwakeManchesterPsychFestLevitation (FR), Grauzone (NL) and several more, as well as having previously supported SelfEsteemYardActWarmduscherKing Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Viagra Boys, 2024 will see Nuha return with another string of live dates in association with the Arts Council (see below).
