Pierce The Veil Kick Off ‘I Can’t Hear You’ World Tour with Electrifying Show in Dublin
Pierce The Veil launched their I Can’t Hear You World Tour with an explosive opening night at Dublin’s 3Arena and what a night it was. With three talented opening acts and a powerhouse headlining set, the show delivered non-stop energy, emotional highs, and unforgettable musical moments. Despite one notable shortcoming, the tour opener firmly cemented why Pierce The Veil remain one of the most compelling bands in the post-hardcore scene today.
The night began with a blistering performance from Crawlers, who wasted no time in setting the tone. Their high-octane set was exactly what the early crowd needed, and their presence on such a big stage felt natural and well-earned. Next up were Hot Mulligan, who performed a tight eight-song set featuring fan favorites like Drink Milk and Run, It Smells Like Fudge Axe in Here, and set closer BCKYRD. Their mix of emotional grit and mathy riffs resonated with the growing crowd, further stoking the flames of anticipation.
Cavetown took the stage third, bringing a different but no less impactful energy. A true standout moment came when Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil joined them onstage for A Kind Thing to Do, adding a raw, collaborative energy that the crowd adored. They also debuted a previously unreleased track, First Time, which received a warm reception and left fans buzzing. Cavetown ended on a high note with their beloved track Devil Town, a perfect closer that tied their set together with heart and vulnerability.
As the lights dimmed and the stage prepared for the main event, the atmosphere inside the 3Arena was nothing short of electric. From the moment Vicente Fernández’s El Rey played over the speakers a nod to frontman Vic Fuentes’ Mexican roots the crowd was locked in. Pierce The Veil exploded onto the stage with Death of an Executioner, instantly sending the arena into a frenzy.
Their 18-song set pulled from across their discography, offering longtime fans and newer followers plenty to enjoy. Highlights included I’m Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket, Yeah Boy and Doll Face, and So Far So Fake, which made its live debut on the tour. Their surprise cover of Where Is My Mind? by The Pixies was another crowd-pleaser, delivered with a haunting energy that paid tribute to the original while still sounding uniquely their own.
The band closed the night with a powerful three-song encore, ending the show on a euphoric high. Fuentes’ vocals were as sharp and emotive as ever, while the band’s tight musicianship and chemistry made every track hit hard. The audience responded in kind screaming, jumping, and singing along until the very last note.
If there was one aspect that fell short, it was the lighting. For a large-scale arena show, the production was surprisingly underwhelming. Across all acts, the lighting lacked creativity and punch, leaving moments that should have visually stunned feeling a bit flat. It didn’t detract heavily from the performances, but for a tour of this scale, more dynamic visuals would have elevated the experience further.
Still, that minor gripe is far outweighed by everything else the night had to offer. The energy, the music, the crowd everything else was right on point. Pierce The Veil proved once again why they’ve endured as one of the genre’s most vital live acts. If you have the chance to catch a show on this tour, don’t think twice. Get your ticket, show up early, and prepare for a night you won’t forget.
