OneRepublic are a household name, with a catalogue of chart-topping anthems that have defined the last two decades of pop. On Thursday night, the Denver outfit returned to Dublin’s 3Arena for the first time since 2017, greeted by a packed crowd, eager to welcome them back.
The show opened with the live debut of Born. Frontman Ryan Tedder was stood elevated on a podium behind the drums before stepping forward to command the stage. An absurd amount of confetti early on set the tone for the night and the band wasted no time diving into fan favourites, Feel Again and Good Life.
From there, the setlist read like a greatest-hits collection: Apologize, Counting Stars, and the euphoric If I Lose Myself had the arena in a frenzy – the energy rarely dipped. Between songs, Tedder reflected on his younger days wandering Dublin’s streets and spoke warmly of the band’s bond with their Irish audience. It was a reminder that behind the mass fame is a group who clearly cherish the connection with their fans.
For those in attendance who had never seen One Republic live, the night was a powerful introduction. For everyone else, it was confirmation of why the band remain such a force. At the pace they continue to deliver arena-sized anthems, their next Irish return feels less a question of if, than when.
Support on the evening came from Ella Henderson.
