Folly Festival Day 2 – live gallery and review from Cullohill Castle, Co. Laois 05.07.2025

Folly Festival Day 2

After the high bar set on Friday, Folly Festival came back swinging for day two and it was an absolute belter. The sun stayed shining all day, the drinks flowed, and the good vibes kept rolling from the moment the gates opened.

After a morning of family and community events, the festival ground showed the first All Ireland semi-final on their big screen to a packed crowd. After Cork’s victory the music began and Aislinn Townsend kicked things off with a stunning set. For her first time on the stage she showed no nerves and had plenty of fans in the crowd. Another local favourite Barry Deegan followed with a punchy performance showing off his wide range of musical talent. Fans were treated to some of his original tracks and some covers, Pink Pony Club being a big hit. After Barry, Ruaile Buaile came in hot. Bringing their usual infectious trad-pop chaos. Lots of dancing and signing followed from the packed crowd. I heard a few around me say “this is Summer” and how right they were.

Nív’s late-night slot was a moment of calm and beauty before Chasing Abbey’s headline set. The lads took over at 11:15pm and owned the stage. The crowd went wild as they belted out banger after banger, Folly was in full-blown party mode.

With a backdrop like Cullohill Castle and a lineup this strong, Day 2 cemented Folly Festival as one of the most exciting small festivals on the Irish summer circuit. Here’s hoping for a Day 3 next year!
