Cosha announces EP ‘Murmurs’ with new single ‘Fire Me Up’

Multi-faceted singer-songwriter and producer Cosha announces her first project since Mt. Pleasant, the new EP Murmurs, due out 9th May. It comes alongside new single ‘Fire Me Up, out today, 8th February.

Murmurs sees Cosha in a chrysalis state, dancing between the points where pain and joy meet as she navigates the grey space that comes with change. EP opener ‘Fire Me Up’ serves a swooning ode to the intricacies of romance — the beauty of knowing great love and the hurt in letting it go. Cosha explains, “I made that beat on the plane when I was leaving from London to LA, it made it even harder because it was really about that like, ‘I still love you, I still want you in my life but we do need to do this and we’re both quietly in the distance for each other. You’re never not going to be someone I care about.’”

She continues: “I remember I was trying to sing the vocals and it was obviously really raw and I couldn’t sing it, I kept choking up and crying… and that’s actually the take on the song, me trying to hold it in and sing through it.”

Previous singles ‘Sun Back’ and ‘Want You Back’ served as signifiers of a new era for Cosha, still underpinned by her trademark raw and sensual sound. After a packed-out launch party for the single, attended by some of the most prevalent talent in London, she has since had features in i-D and Something Curated, as well as her recent Shygirl collab ‘Thicc’ receiving praise from Pitchfork, The Fader, DJ Mag and more. Irish tastemakers have long championed Cosha, including District Magazine, Nialler9, Hot Press, The Irish Examiner, and myriad others.

Newest release ‘Fire Me Up’ is the perfect demonstration of Cosha’s ability to fearlessly create deeply honest and emotional work.
