Lyra – Bulmers Live at Leopardstown, Dublin 18.07.2024

Does LYRA stand for:

Love

Your

Real

Accent?

Because it’s exactly what LYRA is all about!

LYRA greeted us mid race and came out like a power house of energy and she certainly grabbed everyone’s attention!
Speaking about her native county, Cork and how she has been told in the past to try tone down her accent to appeal to the masses, she went the opposite way and kept to her true self. And I say nothing but YOU GO GIRL!

I say it all the time about Dublin accents. I love nothing more than hearing a beautiful thick Dublin accent coming through in the singing of a Dublin band. (I spoke about this last week in my Pillow Queens review).
But LYRA is repping the Corkonians and their beautiful already singing accent.

Hitting the stage from the side steps with a graceful strut downwards, she came out with legs and hair swinging! I’m seeing the Beyoncé references, and she’s certainly a mover.
With the beginnings singing in church choir, her star light only got brighter as the years went on, and with the release of her debut album, she’s directing all eyes to Cork.

LYRA smashed her set at the Bulmers Live Summer festival and joins a list of incredible performers to grace said stage.
