SHY is a Dublin based, Ukrainian singer-songwriter defining her genre as indie-pop/acoustic-pop.

A former X- factor participant, she released her debut EP Loading back in 2018 which launched her career as an independent artist.

Now SHY is based in Ireland discovering the vibrant music scene of Dublin and re-establishing her music career to reach international acclaim.
Since her move, SHY has immersed herself in Dublin’s indie music community, performing at renowned venues and collaborating with local artists. Her heartfelt storytelling and catchy melodies quickly garnered attention from critics and music lovers. With her debut English language album “Awkward Tunes” she has landed a number of Spotify editorial playlists like Indie (Ukraine), NMF (Hungary) and many more.

The lead single You Don’t Think of Me got radio plays in UK and Ireland, as well as in Eastern Europe and North America (Amazing Pop Radio UK, Big Ear Radio, The Sound Lab, CBJ Radio, Sword Radio, Amazing Radio UK,etc.)

The release got some media attention as well, resulting in a number of interview publications with Mystic Sons, 1883, Flex, Music Crowns, Pure Magazine and others. Seizing all and any opportunities afforded to her, SHY’s multiple direct observations of war and destruction is reflected in her evolved and truly authentic approach to her craft.

By embracing moments of self-reflection, love stories and light throughout dark, sombre periods of her life, the singer-songwriter is determined to celebrate simple, heartfelt and warm compositions. In October 2023, SHY released a single Have Good Kiss in collaboration with a US producer August Ogren recorded at the Black Mountain studio in Dublin, Ireland. The song successfully reached 10 ‘000 streams in the first few weeks and landed multiple Spotify playlists including Indie, Equals and New Music Friday.

With support from the Music Export Cooperation Camp, SHY recorded a feature song with an Irish musician producer Cian O’Donoghue in December 2023. Her brand new single ‘On The Roof’ is set for release July 26th which SHY hopes to see her music career take to the next level with focus to grow audiences in Ireland and UK.

Co-produced with August Ogren, a US drummer and sound engineer based in Dublin, “On the Roof” showcases SHY’s signature soft and soothing vocals and delicate guitar work, creating an intimate yet powerful sound.
The song’s stripped-back arrangement highlights the lyrics, which explore the feeling of loss, uncertainty and bitter-sweet nostalgia.

SHY shares: “This song is about those quiet moments of reflection after saying goodbye to someone who has been a significant part of your life. Being on the roof symbolises a place where you can see everything clearly and begin to envision a new future. Since the pandemic and the full scale war in Ukraine, not only have I had to rearrange my own life completely, but also watched so many of my friends living through their toughest times, making decisions that turned everything upside down and very often those decisions involved leaving people they once loved behind.

You may not believe me, but I feel some of my friends’ losses and breakups often hit me harder than my own hardships. So this song is for everyone who has been through the pain of parting with their loved ones and facing a new life without them, for those who have been back to that square one”.

“On the Roof” comes out on all major music platforms on July 26. The accompanying music video, which was shot in London this spring and features SHY performing on a scenic rooftop, will be available on YouTube.
