Wrex – release their brand new single ‘Consume’

Brighton-based duo, WREX, today release their brand new explosive single, Consume. The high-octane track has the listener reeled in from the outset, courtesy of Mae’s commanding vocals, which she delivers with a sense of urgency. Together with guitarist George’s raw vocals, they perfectly complement each other and showcase their solid musicianship. The video sees the band performing in a dark room backlit only by flashing yellow lightbulbs, which alternate with shocking clips of destruction and gluttony.

Vocalist/Guitarist George Donoghue explains of Consume, “A lot of people live their life trapped. This is a loneliness that comes with not understanding yourself, and we seek to fill that void with behaviour that numbs our feelings and only puts more distance between yourself and the world.”

WREX have kicked off a run of shows and a festival around the UK, in collaboration with Independent Venue Week earlier this week. Showing no signs of slowing down, the two-piece have a slew of headline gigs and support slots confirmed for the rest of the year, as well as further festival appearances. Find all information and tickets here, and full dates further below.

The alt/rockers have been busy cutting their teeth on the live circuit since their inception, and spent 2025 headlining venues up and down the UK, as well as supporting the likes of The Hunna and Hacktivist, and playing festivals such as The Great Escape in their hometown of Brighton.

WREX are comprised of friends Mae Seaton (vocals) and George Donoghue (co-vocals and guitar), who formed in 2020 in Brighton after a chance encounter years after meeting on a night out. Their debut EP, This Hell Goes A Long Way Down, arrived in 2024 which spans themes such as isolation and disconnection brought on by panic attacks, the suffocating nature of social media, and deep-rooted childhood trauma.

WREX make alternative rock music, which blends elements of punk and nu-metal. When it comes to experimenting, there are no rules, and their shared passion to create helps them push the boundaries and make the music they’ve always wanted to share with the world.
