When Rivers Meet – have released the video for new single ‘Coming Up For Air’

When Rivers Meet have released the video for new single ‘Coming Up For Air’ taken from their hit fourth album Addicted To You. The new album was released in May 2025 and became their most successful to date, debuting at No.4 in the UK Official Albums Chart as well as topping the Album Download Chart, Americana Chart and Jazz & Blues Chart among a wealth of further chart success.

Consistently proving to be one of the most successful independent artists in recent times, Addicted To You solidified their status while building on the previous success of Aces Are High in 2023, an album which saw When Rivers Meet become the first independent rock and blues band to break the UK Official Albums Chart Top 10.

Addicted To You has expanded the band’s signature blues-rock sound, bringing an incredible array of new sonic textures alongside atmospheric and intriguing production showcasing the ambitious and dynamic music When Rivers Meet have crafted.

The record fuses the raw power of blues-rock, the storytelling soul of Americana, and the heartfelt intimacy of folk. Their music is gritty, soulful, and electrifying, with Grace’s powerhouse vocals and Aaron’s dynamic musicianship creating something truly unforgettable. Whether harmonising in haunting unison or trading lead vocals, their voices create a magnetic dynamic that sets them apart.

New single ‘Coming Up For Air’ is one of the most delicate and intimate songs on Addicted To You, with its evocative folk soundscape and subtle piano signatures forming the base for the poignant song exploring mental preservation.

Regarding the single Aaron Bond says, “‘Coming Up For Air’ is about living behind a mask which hides parts of yourself not just from others, but from your own reflection. Over time, that hiding breeds self-doubt and strips away your confidence until it becomes crippling and freezing. I learned how to show only what felt safe, while everything real stayed buried.

The song captures that suffocating headspace, and the video visualises the fractured inner self, the battle going on underneath the surface. It’s about reaching a breaking point where you realise you can either stay hidden and let things carry on as they are, or choose to surface on your own terms. ‘Coming Up For Air’ is that moment of breaking free from the weight of years of self-doubt and lost confidence and knowing you can’t live that way anymore. You have to change.”

When Rivers Meet closed their triumphant 2025 with an extensive UK headline tour celebrating the release of Addicted To You. The band are now back in the studio working on their new album and have further live dates for 2026 to be announced soon.
