‘When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die’, Moby – announces a major new remix package of the track

The release reimagines the 2026 version from Moby’s latest album Future Quiet, featuring Jacob Lusk’s extraordinary vocal performance. It includes eight new remixes by Moby himself, an acapella version, and new remixes from John Tejada, NOHR and High Beam – each offering a distinct emotional and sonic perspective on one of his most enduring compositions.

Originally released in 1995 on Everything Is Wrong, ‘When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die’ has found a powerful new global audience in recent years through its use in the Netflix phenomenon Stranger Things, becoming Moby’s most streamed song and introducing his music to an entirely new generation of listeners. The 2026 reworking with Jacob Lusk reframed the track for a contemporary moment; this new remix collection extends that evolution into club culture and deeper electronic territories.

John Tejada lends his intricate touch to the track with a masterclass in atmospheric techno, grounding Lusk’s gospel-infused interpretation with crisp percussion, warm basslines and evolving melodic synths while preserving the original’s emotional gravitas.

NOHR delivers a reverent and euphoric reinterpretation shaped by lush sound design, understated rhythms and expansive ambient textures, transforming the track into a hypnotic and deeply immersive listening experience.

High Beam brings an uplifting, expansive energy to the release, pairing driving rhythms and anthemic synths with Lusk’s soaring vocal to create a powerful and emotionally resonant dancefloor moment.

Together with Moby’s own reworks – which range from minimal and meditative to propulsive and club-driven – the package shows how naturally the track moves between emotional listening and the dancefloor.

The release arrives as he prepares for Coachella in April and a major European summer tour including sold-out UK shows at On The Beach, Brighton, London’s Old Royal Naval College and the Irish Museum of Modern Art Kilmainham, Dublin.
