Welly –  have released their new single ”Cul-de-Sac”

WELLY have shared their new single and video Cul-de-Sac and, by answering their call of duty as the
next great British band, have also announced the southern leg of The National Service Tour with
fourteen dates kicking off this month.

Cul-de-Sac is Welly’s vision of a love song – or love as soured in smalltown suburbia – with experimental
shifts in tempo and tension starkly at odds with the status of two people at “dead-end-road”. The video puts an irreverent spin on parochial storytelling, literally bringing smalltown politics to life. Filming took
place at the legendary Wimbourne Model Town, made famous in Hot Fuzz.

Welly himself dedicates Cul-de-Sac to:
“The girl next door, except you’ve both grown up a bit now and the WKD isn’t as sweet as it used to be.
So whilst it’s fun to go back down the streets we used to own, we realise we’ve far outgrown them …
but have we outgrown each other? This was the main idea for the music video; Cul-de-Sac was never
meant to be a single, so I’d never bothered to dream up a visual for it to live in. But once my arm was
forced, and I was scrambling around for any old nonsense to film, my director Harvey Payne came up
with the model village concept. Perfect. And a perfect excuse to spend an evening half-drunk pretending
I’m the indie-dance Godzilla.”

The National Service Tour, which initially covers the South of England, follow recent sold out London
shows at The Century Club and Third Man Records and a number of scene-stealing sets across this
summer’s festivals.
