Wasps vs Humans – return with BANG BANG (You’re Dead), the third single from their forthcoming second album ‘The Day Homo Sapiens Destroyed the Earth’

Following Death Chamber Visits and My Country’s Like A Broken Pen, the single continues the run-up to the album, which also marks the band’s first-ever vinyl release, in partnership with Anthem Vinyl, who are handling both the vinyl pressing and physical and digital distribution.

What sounds like a full-scale band assault is powered by the duo, WvHs, creating a thunderous, uncompromising wall of sound. A relentless blast of indie-electro punk, BANG BANG (You’re Dead) takes aim at a world consumed by war, political absurdity, gun culture and humanity’s own self-destruction.

The innocence of childhood games – “Let’s pretend… bang bang, you’re dead”—before simply getting back up again contrasts starkly with the detached reality of modern warfare. BANG BANG (You’re Dead) asks uncomfortable questions about wars fought remotely from office desks, bombs dropped before heading home for dinner, and conflict consumed like entertainment.

Renowned for their incendiary live shows, WvHs are an anarchic mix of drums, bodhrán, whistles, punk poetry, songs and beats. A sonic assault, their brand of electronic punk-folk energy tackles disappointment, inner-city crime, a fame-obsessed culture and social decay with a huge dollop of desperation, balanced by equal measures of anger and wit, creating a darkly humorous soundtrack to modern life.

Initially a solo project, WvHs punk poet/drummer, Carl Antony Plover has opened for the likes of John Cooper Clarke, Whipping Boy and a daring opening set for Mark E. Smith’s The Fall. He has released an album and single with 80s Avant Garde band 4,000,000 Telephones, earning critical acclaim in the UK national press and airplay on BBC Radio 1’s John Peel show.

Since joining forces with musician wife Linda Plover in 2024, WvHs have continued to expand their sound, while their live performances have grown ever more intense. Electronic beats fuse with distorted guitars; poems are screamed straight into your face, alongside post-punk hooks ensuring every performance is as confrontational as it is unforgettable.
