Uncultivates / Reckless Tony / Necrotized – This Will Become Clear Later, Like The French Revolution tour live gallery and review from Cleere’s Bar & Theatre Kilkenny 09.05.2026

Cleere’s Bar & Theatre played host to a night of pure underground metal mayhem, showcasing three very different bands who each brought their own brand of chaos to the stage. From brutal death metal to reckless hard rock and finally a full-blown hardcore cowboy hoedown, the crowd inside the intimate venue got far more than their money’s worth.

Opening the night was Kilkenny’s own one man death metal machine Necrotized. Armed with crushing riffs and guttural intensity, Necrotized wasted no time setting a dark and heavy tone for the evening. Having only recently released the album Eternal Perversion, the set felt sharp, confident and unrelenting. The raw aggression echoed perfectly through Cleere’s compact room, and the crowd clearly appreciated seeing homegrown extreme metal represented so strongly.

Second on the bill were four piece Reckless Tony, who proved very quickly that they are reckless, not feckless. Bringing a more hard rock driven energy, the band injected the room with swagger, attitude and plenty of catchy hooks. Loosening up the crowd while still keeping the heaviness flowing. By the end of their set, the audience was fully warmed up and ready for the madness to come.

Then came the headliners, Uncultivates, a gang of riff-totin’ cowboys who may officially hail from Cork, but sounded like they had ridden straight out of Southern Texas by way of rural Ireland to play Kilkenny or was that Dublin. Touring in support of their debut album ”This Will Become Clear Later, Like The French Revolution”, the band exploded onto the stage with a chaotic blend of hardcore, rock and wild-west absurdity.

From the moment Uncultivates kicked open the saloon doors, the atmosphere became one giant party. Between the thunderous riffs, flying piñatas and even a dancing horse (that was auctioned off)& Michael Flatley appearing on stage, the performance balanced musical precision with complete insanity. The crowd lapped up every second of it, turning Cleere’s into a sweaty, laughing, headbanging rodeo.

It was loud, ridiculous and enormously fun.
