Trout releases her brand new single over + out – and announces her upcoming second EP Bait, which will be released on September 5th via Our House Online.
Written following a move from Liverpool to the South Coast, over + out captures the helpless ache of trying to help someone who can’t be rescued. It follows the themes of the EP, which wrestles with the instability of being in your mid-twenties and “liking change, maybe a bit too much”.
On over + out, Trout says:
“[over + out is] about doing all you can to help someone, but realising that it’s not enough for what they need. Feeling helpless when someone else has given up or has ‘tapped out’ of or removed themselves from a situation, and not knowing how to move forward from this.”
