Delicate and delicious, Irish alt-rock artist The Butterfly Graveyard is located somewhere between The Blue Nile, Jeff Buckley and the deep blue sea. He makes a fragile music, soft as a butterfly’s wing but sometimes rough and uneven like the underbelly of a leaf, translucent when held up under the light.
This song was written in winter in the dark short days looking forward to lazy days, blue skies and sunshine. It was written for anyone struggling with the ups and downs of life and people who were having a hard time keeping afloat. It’s a simple evocation to hang in there because summertime is coming soon and everything is starting to bloom.
