The Sherlocks – share new single ‘Everything Must Make Sense’ the title track to their new album

The Sherlocks achieved their highest chart position to date when ‘People Like You & Me’ crashed in at #4 – and their huge following was underlined when they subsequently played their biggest headline show so far at Sheffield’s Don Valley Bowl. As the band worked on a follow-up they found that they were gravitating towards the biggest music they’d ever made – gargantuan anthems with a stature built for arenas and beyond. So they set themselves a huge ambition for an entirely independent band: to take their new album ‘Everything Must Make Sense!’ all the way to #1.

As the album’s May 16th release date draws near, The Sherlocks continue to battle to fulfil that goal of going from underdogs to top dogs as they release its title track as their brand new single.

‘Everything Must Make Sense!’ is the perfect soundtrack as spring edges towards summer. The Sherlocks set every aspect of their sound to stun as they fire up classic indie-rock riffages, racing rhythms, glistening synths and surely the most instantly addictive hook they’ve ever written. It’s a song which encapsulates the freedom and endless possibilities of simply taking the convertible roof down, cranking up the speakers, putting your foot to the accelerator and seeing where the day’s adventure takes you. The Sherlocks have become Yorkshire’s answer to The Killers? You’d better believe it.

Vocalist / guitarist Kiaran Crook says, “Everything Must Make Sense is a combination of all the singles you’ve heard so far wrapped up into one. The energy is unmatched in this tune! It’s like early strokes where all the guitars are driving and punchy. It was written in Paris while on tour with Keane and it’s probably the only tune on the record that came super quick. I basically wrote it in no time at all before soundcheck and it all just came at once. It was instant. The song was just there in front of me almost like it fell out of the sky as like a little gift from Paris to me. The fans are gonna love this tune when they finally hear it!”

As with the rest of the ‘Everything Must Make Sense!’ album, The Sherlocks recorded the single with producer David Radhad-Jones. The band is completed by Kiaran’s brother, drummer and fellow co-founder Brandon Crook, plus guitarist Alex Procter and bassist Trent Jackson.

The Sherlocks have pulled out all the stops for the ‘Everything Must Make Sense!’ album formats. They recently launched a series of CD formats, each of which features a different band member on the cover and adds their own track-by-track guide to the album. Vinyl collectors have a choice of classic black vinyl, cream vinyl and a visually arresting picture disc. Fans can further support the #1 campaign with their choice of album bundles which range from a bargain bundle to a complete vinyl set. Pre-orders are available HERE.
