The Script – share the new single ‘Scars Align’

‘The User’s Guide To Being Human’ era has been another triumph for The Script. Boosted by phenomenal airplay led by 2 Radio 2 A-lists, the album became their ninth consecutive #1 record in Ireland, a record for an Irish act and a #3 hit in the UK. Its impact continues after its release too: first with a remarkable reaction to their Radio 2 In The Park set, and now with a huge international arena tour to come. Now The Script keep the record in the spotlight by sharing the new single ‘Scars Align’.

‘Scars Align’ plays to The Script’s strengths, with piledriving, propulsive energy and the kind of soaring, larger-than-life hook that they’re renowned for – and it grows with uplifting dynamism and drama until the very end. Lyrically it also embodies what vocalist Danny O’Donoghue does well – capturing the small moments and big emotions that bring a touch of magic to day-to-day life. It is inspired by Danny’s relationship with his wife, making for a celebration of life-affirming love that so many people will be able to relate to.
 
It also provides a subtle nod to much-missed friend and bandmate Mark Sheehan. The word play of its title recalls how he loved to twist a lyrical phrase in an unexpected direction.
 
Danny says, “You can imagine how elated we all felt after finishing that song: ‘We’re onto something here!’ It feels like our ‘Beautiful Day’. ‘Scars Align’ could be a show opener, I can’t wait to perform that live. I just feel like it’s gonna be huge.”

Danny wrote ‘Scars Align’ during a hugely productive session in California with Andrew Frampton, Steve Kipner and Jimbo Barry. Between them, the three collaborators had previously contributed to many of The Script’s biggest moments, including ‘Breakeven’, ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’, ‘Hall of Fame’, ‘Superheroes’ and ‘The Last Time’.
 
While this represents the eighth studio album of their career, Danny O’Donoghue is still eager to find new ways to connect and to share The Script’s music with the world. This time he launched an innovative microdrama series themed around the album title and the human interest stories that he is drawn to writing about. It consists of four bite-sized short narrative films, which were compiled to form the album’s  accompanying short film.
 
After 14 billion streams, 5 million album sales, and countless international Platinum certifications led by two US Platinum singles and two US Top 10 albums, there’s still much more to come in The Script’s future.
 
Following recent shows with Take That and Luke Combs, the Ireland, UK and European leg of their upcoming arena tour starts inDublin next month, with shows in South-East Asia and Australia following in 2027. And before this year is out, The Script will break away from huge arenas to play some of their most intimate gigs ever with the special Irish Pub Sessions shows, which includes three gigs in a day at The Grand Social, Dublin. In addition, they will also headline the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race day concert on December 6th.
