The None – release a new session via state51 featuring two previously unheard and brand new songs ‘Watch’ and ‘Daddy Doesn’t Make Mistakes’

THE NONE today release a new session via state51 featuring two previously unheard and brand new songs. ‘Watch’ and ‘Daddy Doesn’t Make Mistakes’ offer a first taste of new material from THE NONE, who are currently writing their debut album. The session also features a cover of Napalm Death’s infamous ‘You Suffer‘.

Filmed in one continuous take, the session showcases the band’s raw energy and unique intensity over ten captivating and engrossing minutes.

We’ve been working hard for a few months on a new batch of songs. We thought this session was a good opportunity to debut a couple of them. We’ll also be playing lots of new songs at shows over the next few months. This includes a couple of curated headline shows in London and Birmingham. We’ll be joined by some of our favourite artists on both bills – should be good” – THE NONE

THE NONE are bassist Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party, Young Legionnaire), vocalist Kai Whyte (Blue Ruth, Youth Man), guitarist Jim Beck (Cassels) and drummer Chris Francombe (Frauds).

Their music is a stark collision of unfiltered noise and striking melody. Equal parts chaos and craft, their sound channels the edges of post-hardcore with the weight of something more introspective. It’s a mixture that transcends the influences of their musical predecessors and draws from the cultural climate of today.

THE NONE have quickly built a reputation as a formidable live band – racking up shows with the likes of Mannequin Pussy, Les Savy Fav, Metz and The Jesus Lizard, as well as sold out headline dates and a string of festival appearances.

Two self-released EPs – MATTER and CARE – were quickly followed by debut physical releases: AT HOPE / IN CIVIC PRIDE 7” and the MATTER + CARE 12”. Hand-numbered and hand-printed by the band, pre-orders promptly sold out within a few days.

Accompanying today’s session will be a very limited run of 51 records. Cut to lathe in real-time, in-house at state51 by First Cut Vinyl, the 12” records are packaged with a printed acetate inner in a clear plastic sleeve. Each copy is hand-numbered, signed by the band, and assembled in the state51 Atelier. Vinyl colour variants across the pressing include purple, yellow, pink, red: order for a surprise.

THE NONE are curating two all-day events with some of their favourite acts. One in London on May 16th. The other in Birmingham on July 18th
