The Frank and Walters / The Southern Fold – at Whelans, Dublin 14.12.2024

Cork’s The Frank And Walters rocked up to the capital on Saturday night. Whelans – being the intimate venue it is, provided the band with the perfect backdrop for an evening of nostalgia and joy.

The band, who first rose to prominence in the 90’s, arrived to the stage decked out in bright orange attire. The audience seemed to know every word. During the show, frontman Paul Linehan hinted of new music on the way. The news was unsurprisingly met with unanimous approval from their loyal fanbase.

Though the group’s sound may be rooted in the past, their performance proved that their class and talent are timeless. There’s no doubt that some fans will be making their way down to Cypress Avenue in Cork for the band’s two remaining Irish shows. Both dates are looking likely sell-outs.

Support on the night was provided by The Southern Fold. The band recently released their new single “Before the Fall” and no doubt caught the attention of many soon to be fans in the room. They brought some big smiles to the stage and were met with them back. There’s no doubt we’ll see this group gracing the stage again in the near future.
