Taylor D – Releases the brand new single ‘Strange Addiction’

Already featured on BBC Introducing amid its release “Strange Addiction” is a brutally honest indie
rock confession about being drawn to someone who is very toxic even when you know better. Written
from the perspective of someone caught in a twisted dynamic with a self-absorbed “rockstar” figure,
the song explores themes of obsession, manipulation, shame, and self-awareness.

Driven by heavy guitar lines, pounding drums, and a soaring, emotionally raw vocal delivery, Taylor D
turns vulnerability into power. The track captures the dizzying feeling of knowing you’re being played,
but still clinging to the high. It’s the sound of inner conflict wanting the truth, but chasing illusion.
Lyrically, Taylor D exposes the darker corners of romantic entanglement:

The phrase “Strange Addiction” becomes a metaphor for that pull, a destructive cycle you can’t
break, even when it hurts. The verses depict secret messages, public pretending, and the loneliness
of being “the other girl” while the chorus punches through with a haunting, repeated truth.

Taylor D is an indie pop-rock singer-songwriter and musician from Dublin, Ireland, who has been
making waves in the global music scene with her bold, genre-defying sound. Known for blending
sharp pop hooks with gritty rock energy, Taylor is quickly cementing her place as one of the most
exciting breakout artists of 2025 and beyond.

Her undeniable talent has earned her a string of accolades, including two Presidents’ Gaisce Awards
for Music in 2022 and 2023 and a spot on Today FM’s Irish Ones to Watch 2025. In early 2025, her
single Born to Love You skyrocketed to No. 1 on the iTunes Charts, solidifying her rising-star status
and marking a major milestone in her career.

Taylor’s fearless songwriting and powerful vocal delivery have led to placements on major Spotify
editorial playlists such as It’s a Hit and All New Rock, as well as extensive radio play worldwide, most
recently including a feature on BBC Introducing with her upcoming release Strange Addiction.

In April 2025, Taylor D headlined a sold-out show at the iconic Whelan’s in Dublin, showcasing her
electrifying stage presence and rapidly growing fanbase. Backed by a dynamic live band, her
performances have become known for their raw emotion, high energy, and unforgettable impact.
Blending influences from Olivia Rodrigo, YUNGBLUD, Avril Lavigne, and Arctic Monkeys, Taylor’s
music reflects a generation caught between vulnerability and defiance. With every release, she
continues to push the boundaries of pop and rock, captivating audiences around the world.
