Sprints and Nation of Language – announced as special guests for Gossip / live at The National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks Dublin

Singular Artists and Mother today reveal that the special guests joining cult noughties indie-dance-rockers Gossip at The National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks this August 27th will be “darkly defiant” (NME) Irish garage punks Sprints and New York new wave trio Nation of Language.

This incredible line-up is presented by Singular Artists and Mother as part of Wider Than Pictures – the series of exceptional shows at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks that are fast becoming a staple of summer in Dublin.

Transforming pain into truth, passion into purpose and perseverance into strength, Dublin four-piece Sprints have steadily grown in stature over the last three years, sharing two acclaimed EPs and building a fearsome live reputation opening for the likes of Yard Act and Suede.

Their recently-released debut album Letter To Self is the sound of Sprints levelling up, revisiting their most vulnerable moments and imbuing their visceral garage-punk with a palpable sense of catharsis.

Singer, guitarist and lead-songwriter Karla Chubb has never shied away from confronting inner turmoil. Born in Dublin, she spent a portion of her early childhood in Germany, initially turning to music as a consequence of feeling out-of-step with the world.

Nation of Language are the NYC-based trio who have attracted a rapidly growing international audience via their danceable and impassioned take on new wave, post-punk and shoegaze genres. Just take a look at their live KEXP performance here to understand why the hype is warranted.

Four years on from the release of their critically-acclaimed debut album,  Introduction, Presence, its 2021 follow-up A Way Forward pushed the band to a wider audience—landing them their late-night TV debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and a string of sold out tours.

Their 2023 album Strange Disciple has continued this momentum, landing Rough Trade’s coveted #1 album of the year spot. Now a mainstay atop lists of the best live acts of recent years, the band continue to charge synth-first into their latest chapter as a major festival draw at recent iterations of Austin City Limits Festival, Desert Daze, Pitchfork Festival, Primavera Sound, Corona Capital, Outside Lands, Bonnaroo and many others.
