The intimate surroundings of The Academy Green Room played host to a memorable stop on The Forgiving Tour, headlined by American indie rock outfit Sir Chloe. The evening opened with a confident and engaging 30 minute set from Amy Michelle, whose warm stage presence immediately connected with the crowd. Her performance balanced vulnerability with attitude, particularly during “I Don’t Need You Anymore,” which drew one of the loudest early reactions of the night. She closed her set with a striking cover of Torn, originally written by Scott Cutler, Anne Preven, and Phil Thornalley for Ednaswap before later becoming a worldwide hit for Natalie Imbruglia. Amy Michelle’s version leaned into the song’s raw emotional core while still feeling fresh and personal.
When Sir Chloe finally took the stage, the atmosphere shifted instantly. Opening with “Squaring Up,” the band wasted no time establishing the restless energy that carried through their massive 21 song set. Frontwoman Dana Foote commanded the room effortlessly, moving between biting indie rock intensity and quieter moments of reflection. Tracks like “I Am The Dog,” “Forget It,” and “Holy” showcased the band’s sharp musicianship and ability to blend grunge influences with catchy melodic hooks. The crowd response peaked during fan favourite “Michelle,” which opened the two song encore and transformed the packed Green Room into a full voice singalong.
Despite the lengthy setlist, Sir Chloe never lost momentum. Combined with Amy Michelle’s strong opening performance, the night felt perfectly paced from start to finish and proved why The Forgiving Tour has generated such excitement among indie rock fans.
