ABOUT THE TRACK

On September 6th, Luke Clerkin will release ‘Constellations’ the third single from his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Orpheus’. ‘Constellations’ features the stunning vocals of Irish folk singer-songwriter, Bríd Lyons and it is one of four songs on the album which Lyons features on. It was produced by a frequent collaborator and close friend of Luke, Gavin Doyle, between Gavin’s home studio in Clondalkin and Block C Studios in Ballymount. It was mixed and mastered by Martin Quinn (Heroes In Hiding, Aine Cahill) in Jam Studios in Kells.

“This is one of the last tracks on the album but it marks the start of a new relationship, and it explores all of the vulnerabilities that came up during those early days. I was in a very cautious mind space when I was writing this song, I made sure not to let my impulsivities take the lead, and writing about it really helped me process how I was feeling. I felt that I had lost myself in the months previous and I couldn’t let that happen again.”

Talking about working with Bríd Lyons, Luke said “Bríd is an incredible singer-songwriter in her own right, we’ve been singing together for over two years, and because of this and maybe less obvious reasons to some, haha, we have a lot of chemistry on stage and in the studio. It was amazing to be able to capture that with this song. It’s one of four tracks that she features on for the album, so this is only a small example of what’s to come.”.
