Sigur Rós – with The Ulster Orchestra to play Belfast and Dublin  September 2026

Sigur Rós announce the final dates of their epic world tour that sees them collaborating with local 41-piece orchestras, bringing their latest album ÁTTAto life alongside favourites from their extensive catalogue.

The last leg of the tour will see them perform with The Ulster Orchestra on Fri, 4 Sept 2026 at The Waterfront Hall, Belfast and on Sun, 6 Sept and Mon 7 Sept at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin.

The new shows will be the last chance for fans to see this unique performance from Sigur Rós in collaboration with conductor Robert Ames and local orchestras, making these dates another important milestone in their career. The tour has already seen them playing in some of the world’s most iconic orchestral venues, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, Rome’s Sala Santa Cecilia, Paris’ Salle Playel, Brussels’ Bozar, Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City and the Konzerthaus in Vienna; and collaborated with, amongst others, the London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO), the Wordless Music Orchestra, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra, Resound Collective, Brisbane Philharmonic, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and more.

The band’s Kjartan Sveinsson says: “We’re excited to be going back to the orchestral shows in September. It is always very special to sit in the middle of an orchestra surrounded by all these fantastic players we have played with the past four years. Thanks to everyone that has come to our shows, all the players, the crew and a special thanks to our conductor and arranger Rob Ames and our main arranger María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir.”

In 2023, Sigur Rós set upon having orchestral accompaniment as part of their tours, with the band wanting to put a spotlight on a series of phenomenal orchestras around the world, not just themselves. Having reunited with keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson in 2022, the members played alongside full orchestras in grand concert halls worldwide. The performances are simultaneously as expressive and indescribable as the band themselves, all a testament to the timeless pull of Sigur Rós.

The final leg of the tour comes in the wake of a fruitful era for the band’s fans. At the start of the new decade, the band dove deep into their archives for long-anticipated works. They first released Odin’s Raven Magic (2020), an orchestral album originally made nearly two decades prior, and later reissued ( ) for its 20th anniversary in 2022. Their first collection of new material in nearly a decade, ÁTTA (2023) leans heavily towards the orchestral, featuring contributions from the London Contemporary Orchestra. Last September the band released a special 20th anniversary edition of their acclaimed album Takk… – their major label debut and a commercial breakthrough for a band that has never sought the mainstream – remastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound.

With close to ten million albums sold, Sigur Rós stands as one of the most ambitious and acclaimed bands of recent times, whose new artistic endeavours only points towards an expansive, exciting future.
