Sex Mask are a 3-piece post-punk / alt-rock band from Melbourne, self described as “vague pop instilled with the ancient genius of your own blood.”
Their debut single, “Birds/Beheadal” is described as “Part Taoist riddle, part lone gun-mans manifesto.”
Since releasing music in 2025, debuting at SXSW Sydney and Bigsound, they garnered support slots for acts such as Fat White Family, Fcukers and Big Special.
This year, they’ve conquered the European festival circuit, playing at The Great Escape, where NME hailed them as one of the best acts of the festival, Supersonic, Dot To Dot, Gold Sounds, End Of The Road.
Is Sex Mask just another egregious attempt from delusional solipsists at being heard while saying close to nothing? Perhaps, but they make it look good, and they’re now announcing their own tour, stopping off in Dublin this August.
