SET IT OFF continue to embrace its status as an independent band with the single “CREATING MONSTERS”, out now.
Speaking about the new single Cody Carson said “The original voice memo for the ‘Creating Monsters’ concept is called ‘Big band metal!!! DO THIS!!!’. It was a BLAST writing it! We were writing a big band jazz rock song, but with heavy rock.”
On the story behind the song, he explains: “Part of the battle with anxiety is being around people that don’t deal with it, and don’t understand. So we came up with the idea that it’s like creating a room full of monsters that only you can see. This song is about the prolonged battle with anxiety, as well as the will to fight back.
I want people to hear this and know they’re not alone in their struggle, but also be able to use it as a tool to somewhat come to terms with it, laugh it off in a way, and celebrate that we’re still fighting the good fight.”
Already a multi-million streaming band, they have chosen to do things their own way and let go of all fears to produce the music they want to make.
Blending a vast spectrum of sonic influences, writing music is a means of catharsis for Set It Off and has reinvigorated Cody Carson (singer/lyricist), Zach DeWall (guitarist), and Maxx Danziger (drummer).
“We feel like we’re a new band again,” drummer Maxx Danziger says. “This is the most fun we’ve ever had, and we’re going to keep chasing that feeling.”
The new single followers previous singles “Evil People”, “Punching Bag” and “Fake Ass Friends”.
