Oscillating between evocative indie rock and shoegaze brilliance, Newcastle-based dreamy rock artist Hannah Robinson has hypnotised audiences with her ability to craft music that speaks to vulnerability and self-discovery. A dark and ethereal sound; Hannah’s strong and well-defined sense of personality and her clear musical fingerprint leaves nothing to be desired; pulling gothic melodic presences into the pop world.
Being no stranger to stress and feelings of uncertainty, ‘I’m Sorry I Let You Down’ perfectly embodies the overwhelming experience of anxiety; such a universal subject that is guaranteed to resonate with many. Slathered in reverb, eerie guitars and spellbinding synths, Hannah sends us hurtling down the depths of her interrogating thoughts.
In her own words, Hannah speaks on the new single:
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve been caught in the cycle of people-pleasing and apologising for things out of my control. Overthinking has became a second nature and it can feel so isolating and frustrating. The chilling whispers, intense drums and chaotic guitars authentically capture the claustrophobic feeling of stress that I often face. This song speaks to those who worry too much and can’t switch off their brain. It’s for those who blur out the positives and fixate on the negatives.”
Since forming her band in 2022, they have made a mark on their local scene and beyond, selling out headliners, having notable support slots with the likes of CVC, swim school and Moon Panda, being curated by Maximo Park’s Paul Smith to play his stage for Generator Live, as well as being tipped as one of BBC Introducing’s ones to watch in 2023 and featured in Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds UK & Ireland’ editorial playlist.
