Oscillating between evocative indie rock and shoegaze brilliance, Newcastle-based dreamy rock artist Hannah Robinson has hypnotised audiences with her ability to craft music that speaks to vulnerability and nostalgia. A dark and ethereal sound; Hannah’s strong and well-defined sense of personality leaves nothing to be desired; pulling gothic melodic presences into the pop world.
A tranquil soundscape, new single ‘Blissfully Miles Away’ serves an important purpose of embracing new beginnings and manifesting dreams into reality. With huge choruses, powerful basslines, and piercing vocals, this transcendent anthem showcases Hannah’s grittiest sound yet as she explores and evolves into new post-rock territories.
Speaking on the story behind ‘Blissfully Miles Away’, Hannah tells us:
“When lockdown hit in 2020, I discovered ‘The Secret’, a philosophy rooted in the belief that you are what you attract and that your thoughts can shape your life’s circumstances. Each night, I would sit under the stars, reflect on my past, write down my ambitions, and speak them into the universe. I found solace in my solitude, embracing a newfound love for self-discovery and manifesting the future I had always dreamed of, leaving the past behind.”
Embracing a distinct shoegaze aesthetic inspired by the likes of Beach House and Slowdive, as well as new noise bands like NewDad, Just Mustard and Wolf Alice, Hannah has grafted hard, turning bedroom demos to introspective anthems; garnering national attention through BBC Radio 1’s Future Alternative show with Nels Hylton, Line of Best Fit, This Feeling, CLOUT, NARC, Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds UK & Ireland’ editorial playlist, as well as being tipped as one of BBC Introducing’s ones to watch in 2023.
Selling out gigs, having notable supports with the likes of Swim School, Moon Panda and CVC to name a few, and festival appearances such as Y Not (2024), Stockton Calling, Generator Live and Gathering Sounds (2024), Hannah and her band are set for an astronomical 2024, as it marks the gateway to a new sound of spellbinding shoegazed rock…
