ABOUT THE TRACK
Tallaght singer Songwriter and mental health advocate Luke Clerkin will release ‘Over Time’ on World Mental Health Day, October 10th. ‘Over Time’’ is the 4th song to be released from Luke Clerkin’s upcoming debut album ‘Orpheus’. The song features the stunning vocals of Irish folk singer-songwriter, Bríd Lyons and it is one of four songs on the album on which Lyons features.
It was produced by Gavin Doyle, a frequent collaborator and close friend of Luke, in Gavin’s home studio in Clondalkin. It was mixed and mastered by Martin Quinn (Heroes In Hiding, Aine Cahill) in Jam Studios in Kells.
“I wrote this song for somebody close to me whose self-worth was quite low at the time. They were telling me about past relationships and how they had been mistreated. So I wanted to show them that they were worth more than how they were made to feel and that things will get better for them as time goes on.”

On choosing World Mental Health Day as the release date, Luke added “I’ve been involved in mental health advocacy and activism work for over 10 years now, it’s what got me into music. I started playing because I wanted to help others going through what I’ve gone through, and sometimes still go through. Releasing this song on World Mental Day ties into that. I want to use it to start conversations and to give hope to people who need it.”
