Paul Sherry – Announces Surprise 4th Album “Peace In Mind” out in September

Offering a unique combination of rich guitar technicality, rugged vocal delivery and thoughtful songwriting, Sherry brings years of industry experience and passion to his craft. Lead guitarist of the award-winning Gráinne Duffy band, Sherry is an artist, songwriter and session musician with deep artistic and spiritual values. Earning support from Hot Press, Frontview Magazine, Grateful Web, RTÉ Entertainment, RTÉ Lyric FM and more, his work brings to the forefront his values of creativity, passion, storytelling and positivity.

Sherry may be as close to an old-school rocker as you will find in today’s Irish music scene. A full-time recording, touring, and session musician, he performs internationally year-round with the acclaimed Gráinne Duffy band, sells his original albums exclusively at solo shows (not available for streaming), and has collaborated with some of the industry’s finest names along the way, including Marc Ford (The Black Crows), Dale Davis (Amy Winehouse), Arron Sterling (John Mayer, Post Malone), Jorgen Carlsson (Govt Mule), Kenny Aronoff (Smashing Pumpkins) and Justin Stanley (Beck).

“Peace In Mind” is the succeeding album release to 2021’s “Let It Flow – a meditative rock LP which earned RTÉ Lyric FM ‘Album of the Week’ recognition.  Continuing in the same vein of rock, roots and moments of introspection, “Peace In Mind” sees Sherry bring in long-time collaborators Rocky O’Reilly (producer), Davy Cassidy (Drums) and Paul McCabe (bass), delivering a substantial collection of ten songs bound with fresh energy and dignified skill.

Releasing lead single “Fades” last year, Sherry shared, “Music is meditation – no thinking, just a pure clear mind in full flow. ‘Fades’ is influenced by Taoism, as in, everything changes through the journey of life. By letting go, being present and fully aware in the moment, we truly experience the flow. The song is about the struggle to stay present and have a clear mind in this modern day society that we live in”.

On the forthcoming album, he says, “This is a really special album for me. It represents growth, change, memory and unity. Because I’m deeply spiritualistic, I found myself drawn to the Enso symbol, which can represent one’s state of mind artistically, philosophically or whatever way we choose. The sense of freedom associated with it really resonated with me, and I think you can hear this expression across the album. It embodies me, doing what I love, in the way I want to, with amazing people by my side.”

Debuting album track  “Rise” at the 7 Hills Blues Festival in County Armagh recently, the opening track of the album already stands as a firm fan favourite, encompassing Sherry’s  dynamic, high-paced character.
