Pa Sheehy took to the stage in the Spirit Store on Thursday 3rd April for the first night of his current ‘Under the Surface Acoustic Tour’.
Support on the night was from Julia-Maria, who also doubles as Pa’s cellist/backing vocalist.
She opened the night with a solo acoustic set, showing an amazing talent for songwriting and a voice that did her very well written songs (lyrics especially) the justice they deserved.
Definitely one to watch, and you can see why Pa works with her too, as her voice is fantastic.
Speaking of amazing talent, the former ‘Walking on Cars’ singer played a ‘stripped back’ set, with acoustic guitar, piano, cello and a couple of backing vocalists, although when you have a voice like his, you probably wouldn’t even need any music. He has one of those voices that can fill a room and give you chills, while also making you feel like he is singing directly at you.
His tour seems to be selling out fast, so if you can catch him I’d highly recommend it.
Definitely a night for anyone who appreciates the purity of a good song and an amazing voice.
Just be sure to arrive early to catch the support too!
