Oversize – have returned with a stunning new single ‘Separate’

British alt-shoegaze outfit OVERSIZE have returned with a stunning new single, ‘Separate‘, released today via SharpTone Records. Marking a powerful new chapter, the band return a year after the release of their debut album, Vital Signs, to introduce brand-new vocalist Nick Nowak.

“We’re incredibly excited to start this new chapter, not just with a new member but also with a new creative outlook, after releasing our debut record we have a much better understanding of who we are as musicians and as a band – and we’re so happy to share a little part of what we’ve been working on. This first single was actually the last song we wrote before heading into the studio to record, we finished it about a week before and despite thinking we had our minds set on which tracks we were going to track, it was abundantly clear we had to do this one, that’s just the way it goes sometimes I guess!”

Formed in the South West of England, OVERSIZE – vocalist Nick Nowak, guitarists Lewis Lennane-Emm and Tazz Edwards, bassist George Lewis, and drummer Sam Shutler – blend 90s shoegaze textures, heavy grunge riffs, and raw post-hardcore catharsis. 

OVERSIZE are an alternative band formed in the Southwest of England. While the band don’t shy away from their love of alternative 90’s music, OVERSIZE have very little interest in being sonically tied to the past, their shared experience of writing and playing live together has found them carving out their own space within the alternative scene. Exploring dynamics within their music, songs drift between atmospheric textures to loud fuzzy riffs, magnifying and complimenting the personal and often venerable vocals. OVERSIZE have already had an impressive amount of live shows under their belt playing across the UK supporting the likes of Militarie Gun, Fiddlehead, Higher Power, Static Dress, Boston Manor, Modern Color to name a few. The debut record Vital Signs was released in February 2025 via SharpTone Records.

Although still very much in their infancy, the group have already developed a fully-formed, personal sound. Elements of post-hardcore, alternative metal, shoegaze and emo combine to deliriously heady effect. While the band don’t shy away from their love of alternative 90’s music, and a love of HUM, The Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, and Pixies, OVERSIZE have very little interest in being sonically tied to the past.
