Oklou – returns with ‘choke enough Deluxe’ arriving October 30th + release new single featuring FKA twigs

Following the sweeping critical acclaim for her debut full-length album choke enough—hailed as one of 2025’s most vital releases—vocalist, producer, and composer Oklou returns with choke enough Deluxe, arriving October 30th via Because with an expansion pack vinyl releasing Nov 28th. Building on the record’s warm production and its blend of ambient textures with minimal club rhythms, the deluxe edition adds four new songs that expand the album’s universe.

Alongside the news Oklou shares new single “viscus,” a striking new track featuring FKA twigs. The song comes alongside a Gil Gharbi-directed video featuring Oklou and FKA twigs’ run-in in an unsettling suburban home. First teased in Oklou’s Highsnobiety cover story earlier this year, the collaboration was born from a conversation about shared struggles with stomach pain—an intimate theme that became the song’s foundation. “I kind of go through all of these sources of anxiety and talk about my body as a conflicting relationship,” Oklou explains.

“viscus” lands just ahead of Oklou’s completely sold-out North American headline tour, which kicks off October 14th in Toronto and includes stops in New York, Montreal, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and more. The tour will be followed by a European run in November, culminating in a performance opening for Lorde in Luxembourg. Oklou will also be making a number of festival appearances in 2026 with a debut Coachella performance as well as performances at Primavera Sound and Laneway Festival.

The announcement coincides with Oklou’s cover story for Pitchfork, where journalist Anna Gaca traveled to Pau, France, to join Oklou on her summer retreat, after giving birth in June, to reflect on her breakthrough year and artistic evolution.

Oklou was also recently announced as being featured on the upcoming PinkPantheress remix album out tomorrow.

Named among the best albums of the year by Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Billboard, The FADER, and Stereogum, choke enough has cemented Oklou’s status as a cult figure with Pitchfork praising her meticulous craftsmanship noting, “Mayniel makes electronic pop with the rigor and meticulousness of a Bach cantata.” In the wake of the album’s success, Oklou has drawn high profile co-signs from Billie Eilish who noted, “Honestly, she’s the first thing that’s gotten me excited in a while,” and Ethel Cain who added, “I’m obsessed with this album, it’s like if they made pop music for bugs”, as well as Rosalía and Lorde.

Born Marylou Mayniel in rural western France, Oklou’s musical foundation was built on classical piano and cello, before she fell in love with electronic production and began performing her first shows in Paris. Her 2020 mixtape Galore marked a creative breakthrough, blending introspective songwriting with futuristic sound design. Dazed praised Galore as, “sophisticated in its composition yet totally cutting edge in its sound.”

With choke enough, Oklou has evolved into one of the most compelling voices in modern music—bridging intimacy and innovation with fearless emotional clarity.
