Native James – has  released his brand new single ”Power”

Innovative grime/metal rising star, Native James, has  released his brand new single, Power via Saviour Music. Led by Native’s signature vocals which are delivered with conviction, the track steadily builds up to the commanding chorus.

Teaming up again with Grade A Productions and director Reece Salvadorai, Native has also revealed the music video for Power. It sees the Ipswich-based artist perform in a bedroom alongside his band, before they are hit with the elements.

Native has said of the track’s overarching theme, “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any. We are here to empower the people.”

Native James (real name Aaron James) recently unleashed his punch-to-the-gut single, Hammer. The track received its first radio spins on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show with Daniel P Carter, and Future Alternative show with Nels Hylton on the night of release. Listen to Hammer, which has now racked up over 107k streams on Spotify, here. Produced by Grade A Productions and directed by Reece Selvadorai

September will see Native James play Sounds Good Festival in Chelmsford, shortly followed by a set at Attitude Festival on 19th October. In May, Native played a packed out show at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival. He performed as part of Escape From The Escape at The Pipeline. This was a free showcase curated by his new label home, and also saw Laura’s Dream, Nuns Of The Tundra, Holocene and Carpark play. It’s hard to believe that Native only played his debut live show last Summer, on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading Festival. He drew in a raucous crowd, performing a high octane set including his track Field, which can be seen here. Later that year, he played a show at the Waiting Room in Stoke Newington in December.

Most of Native’s songs were born freestyle raps – an awe-inspiring craft Native has been honing since he was at school. He first discovered he could freestyle when he was put on the spot and asked to ‘spit some bars’, a phrase that was then alien to Native. Since this defining moment, Native has been cutting his teeth, performing live in a different iteration to what we see today. Fusing his love of rap, grime, rock and metal, Native is finally creating the music he has always wanted to make.

Native wants to create a tribe and sees his fans as one big united family. He wants his live show to be a space for his fans to feel empowered, and be a space for them to leave their worries at the door; to heal, to rage but most importantly, to engage. Native James welcomes you to the realm…
