Moncrieff – just the other day released the new single ”I just don’t think I’ll make it over you” you can read our review here

In his latest single ”I Just Don’t Think I’ll Make It Over You” Irish artist Moncrieff delves deeply into raw, unfiltered heartbreak, delivering one of his most personal releases to date. After the success of How It Ends, a song reflecting on the passage of time and lost connections, Moncrieff continues this theme in a more vulnerable way, navigating the pain of unresolved love. He admitted on social media that he felt fear about releasing this track, and it’s easy to understand why; the song reads like an open letter, filled with confessions and unspoken regrets.

The song opens with Moncrieff’s signature piano, a beautiful and delicate accompaniment to his powerful lyrics. From the very first line, “My pulse is up, my mouth is dry, you’re the reason why,” we’re plunged into an emotionally charged scene as he encounters an old love, sparking a wave of intense memories and longing. There’s an ache in his voice as he sings about how time—meant to heal and create distance—has failed to diminish his feelings. Seven years later, he still finds himself captivated and unable to move on.

The lyrics capture a rollercoaster of emotions, swinging between the hope of rekindling a lost love and the sorrow of realising that some loves can’t be left behind. His reflections on past moments—like the support his former partner showed when his brother passed—ground the track in an emotional reality, making the song feel as relatable as it is intimate.

The rawness of Moncrieff’s storytelling is mirrored in the stripped-back production, allowing his voice and lyrics to shine. His ability to convey complex emotions with such authenticity is one of the reasons he has built a loyal global following and has sold out major Irish venues, including King John’s Castle in Limerick and played to a packed crowd ad Electric Picnic. This latest single is another testament to his talent, and fans will undoubtedly look forward to what he brings in his upcoming album, eager to see how he continues to explore love, loss, and healing.

With I Just Don’t Think I’ll Make It Over You, Moncrieff has gifted listeners a piece of himself—a haunting, beautiful song that captures the ache of love and loss with striking honesty.
