Having released ‘Triage’ & ‘Better Than Oasis’, whilst making appearances at Truck Festival and Humber Street Sesh this summer, Matt Edible & The Obtuse Angels pivot to present the final single ‘Dog Dirt’ from their anticipated sophomore album ‘The Optemetrist’ on Friday 24th January.
A modern twist on a childish taunt, Dog Dirt’s punchy guitars, catchy hooks and snarling vocals are straight out of the Power Pop playground. A no-nonsense, melody driven 3 minute tantrum; Dog Dirt is a modern day anthem for everybody who’s sick of being lied to and gaslighted by people who should know better.
“We’re increasingly living in a world where it seems to be commonplace that people with power and wealth can just lie and talk down to us. And somehow that’s become acceptable. I’ve not got a solution to this problem but I’ve got every right to moan about it. That’s what Dog Dirt is – a whinge like a child about how rotten it is – “Its not fair!””
