Makeshift Art Bar – Instore & Signing to celebrate the release of their new EP ‘Marionette’ live gallery and review from Spindizzy Records, Dublin 02.07.2026

Makeshift Art Bar transformed the intimate space of Dublin’s Spindizzy Records in the Georges St. Arcade on Thursday, July 2nd, delivering a blistering live set. The performance celebrated the release of their highly anticipated second EP, Marionette. Their set was packed with the raw, uncompromising energy they are quickly becoming known for. Recently signed to indie heavyweight label Heist or Hit, the band used the small stage to prove exactly why they are turning heads.

Produced by Daniel Fox, known for his work with Sprints and Melts, ”Marionette” tackles intense themes of power struggles and a lack of internal control. These heavy, complex concepts translated viscerally to their live show, cutting right through the air of the record shop. Squeezed among the vinyl racks, the audience was treated to an audacious and idiosyncratic display of sound and rhythm. Makeshift Art Bar isn’t a band trying to be easily digestible or passively liked, instead, their performance felt entirely vital and defiant. Every track felt densely layered, demanding attention and hinting at the sonic depth that makes multiple listens of their work essential.

The compact burst of sound left a lasting, powerful impression on the room. As quickly as they had ignited the shop, the band wrapped up their set, leaving the crowd buzzing with adrenaline. For a young group carrying such an uncompromising vision, this fleeting Spindizzy showcase served as a perfect snapshot of their rising trajectory.
