Today, LA’s Local Natives release their sixth studio album But I’ll Wait For You digitally via Loma Vista Recordings worldwide, with a physical release to follow in June. Today, the band will also host a release day event at Brain Dead Studios in LA. This will include an acoustic session, Q&A and the premiere of their upcoming short film directed by Jonathan Chu.
But I’ll Wait For You is a culmination of nearly two decades of brotherhood, and a mantra of reassurance in response to relentless changes. In a statement about the album the Local Natives said “But I’ll Wait For You is the companion piece to our 2023 release Time Will Wait For No One. Maybe not an answer to a question but an exhale to an inhale. There is so little that’s in our control but among all this chaos, we can choose to be there for each other.”
The album showcases the band’s seminal harmonies as well as an adventurousness that explores new territory for the Local Natives. Its release is accompanied by the track ‘Throw It In The Fire‘ – its percussion soaked soundscape is intensified by yearning, three-part harmonies.
