Last Apollo – announces headline with chamber orchestra at Button Factory, Dublin

Last Apollo brings her new collection of songs entitled “I’ll Walk Towards You” to the Button Factory newly arranged for live band and chamber orchestra on December 5th, 2024.

Recognised as ‘One to Watch’ by publications such as The Irish Times, Hotpress and Nialler9, artist and composer Last Apollo (a.k.a Lucy Rice) has gained momentum across streaming services but it is ultimately her astounding live shows that has lead to the cult following Rice has steadily cultivated. Last Apollo effortlessly commands the attention of any crowd and ensnares them with her haunting lyrics and dynamic vocal style. Placing great value on literary influences as well as musical ones, Last Apollo’s songs are as intricately crafted lyrically as they are musically – each word is deliberate, weighted and merely amplified by her emotionally-charged vocal delivery.

With thanks to support from The National Arts Council and DLR County Council, Last Apollo, has orchestrated the series of songs for a concert that goes beyond the scope of a standard gig. The concert, to be performed by Rice and the newly established Arcadian Rhythm Ensemble (conducted by Catriona Atkinson) interwoven with visual art and featuring an opening performance from multidisciplinary creator E The Artist, is without a doubt, one that cannot be missed for any fans of artists such as Anohni, PJ Harvey, Lisa O Neill and Big Thief.
