Carnival curator and showman extraordinaire Jerry Fish to release the 2nd single on the 22nd of January taken from his No. 1 new album feat. MayKay ~ “Dreaming Of Daniel” a tribute to the late great Daniel Johnston. “A labor of love, five years in the making. I am very proud of it. It’s a record full of amazingly talented musicians, a fourteen-piece orchestra, a three-piece brass section, backing vocals from some of the best vocal talent in Ireland, praising one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
Indeed, merely labelling the 13 tracks on “Dreaming of Daniel” as covers, really does them a disservice – channeling as they do, the originality, brilliance, poignancy and transcendent nature of the lord of lo-fi himself, the legend that was Daniel Johnston. “The country stomp of the pair duetting on ‘Ain’t No Woman Gonna Make A George Jones Outta Me’ is great gas. ~ Mighty stuff.” 9/10 Hot Press Magazine.
‘Dreaming of Daniel’ is a celebration of Johnston’s philosophy – one which we can all dance to, when Jerry & Co. perform the tracks from this record on an upcoming Irish tour, including a Grand Social show for 2025’s ‘Hi, How Are You Day!’ on January 26 with MayKay, plus very special guests Junior Brother, Mundy, Anamoe Drive, Aonair, Cat Dowling, John Byrne and more to be announced.
