anamoe drive is the solo moniker of songwriter & multi-instrumentalists Oisín Leahy Furlong (also known as lead singer for Dublin psych-pop band THUMPER).
‘walking the cow’ is the third single taken from his sophomore album ‘thank god it’s friday’ which will be released on 7th Nov ahead of it’s launch show at The Grand Social Ballroom in Dublin on Thurs 13th Nov.
His debut album ‘Breakfast in Bed‘ released via Faction Records garnering international attention from KEXP, BBC and more for it’s distinct brand of lo-fi indie meets alt folk and led to him opening for The Murder Capital, Palehound and Carter Vail, as well as performing at Electric Picnic, All Together Now, and Kaleidoscope Festival and making his TV debut on Fanning at Whelans (Virgin Media) alongside Villagers, Kingfishr and more.
‘walking the cow is a cover of one of my favourite songs by Daniel Johnston. We included this song on a whim as myself and producer Ian McFarlane had performed it live a few times (including at Hi How Are You Day, the mental health charity/tribute concert). This caution-to-the-wind attitude speaks to the playful nature with which we approached the making of this album. I think that balance of taking the work seriously, and injecting it with a sense of play and discovery, is something I learned from Daniel’s records early on – so it’s a nice full circle moment to include this small tribute’.
