Hayes Carll and Corb Lund – are to paly a headline show at The Workman’s Club Dublin

Two of North America’s most distinctive voices in contemporary Americana and outlaw country: Corb Lund and Hayes Carll bring their celebrated songwriting and storytelling to Workman’s Club, Dublin on Friday 11 April, as part of their upcoming tour.

Hailing from rural Alberta, Corb Lund is as authentic as they come. Raised in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with deep roots in ranching and rodeo culture, Lund has carved out a singular career that effortlessly weaves outlaw country, Western traditions, and indie-folk with wit, grit, and curiosity. Having started out like many others, recording in his basement, booking his own tours, and managing his own career, Lund first gained recognition with indie-metal band the smalls before turning his focus to Western songwriting.

Along the way, he has earned multiple domestic and international awards, won his 14th Canadian Country Music Award in 2022, and made his debut at the historic Grand Ole Opry. His latest album of original material, “El Viejo”, was released in February 2024.

Joining him is Hayes Carll, one of Americana’s most respected and beloved songwriters. Now more than two decades into his career, Carll is known for his rare ability to confront life’s biggest questions with warmth, humour, and blunt honesty.

His tenth album, “We’re Only Human”, is an intimate and understated masterpiece. It’s a reflective body of work that explores self-forgiveness, presence, accountability, and grace. Praised by outlets including Pitchfork and The New York Times, who likened his sharp wit and insight to Bob Dylan, Carll’s songs have been recorded by artists such as Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Womack, and Brothers Osborne. As a performer, his warm, crackling vocals and disarming storytelling have made him one of Americana’s most enduring live acts.
