Galway singer-songwriter Johnluke – set to release  infectious new pop single “Pretty” on Fri 19th Sept

Johnluke’s upcoming single ‘Pretty‘ is a feel-good anthem that celebrates hidden beauty. It captures the magic of meeting someone whose natural charm they don’t even realize they have, while telling the story of someone stepping forward to say just how truly pretty that person is.

Johnluke: “Pretty highlights a person’s beauty that strikes you from the very first moment you meet someone — a beauty they’re completely unaware of. It tells the story of going out on a limb to express just how pretty they are. At its heart, it’s about someone’s natural beauty with a heart of gold, and having that feeling of being in awe every time you’re with the them.”

Since Johnluke’s debut single “Already Been Told”, released in March 2024, this folk-pop ballad quickly set the pathway for the emerging singer. Now, with a chain of singles under his belt—including the viral TikTok favourite City Lovin’, Royalty, Letters, Change Me, and his recent release “Green Eyes”—Johnluke continues to rise in the music scene. Johnluke’s musical signature blends pop, folk, and country, paired with a natural passion for storytelling. His heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies create a soulful sound that resonates with listeners of all ages. He is making a name for himself in the industry, particularly since Galway Bay FM named him a finalist for Irish Music Month 2024.

More recently, Johnluke was recognized as one of Today FM’s Top 5 Emerging Irish Artists in their campaign “Ireland’s Next Big Busker 2025.” Supported by Dave Moore as his chosen act, he finished as runner-up, raising vital funds in aid of Focus Ireland.

Johnluke has performed at iconic venues and festivals across Ireland. He has been a regular at Quays Bar (Galway), Mike the Pies (Listowel), and CASK (Limerick), and made his festival debut at RiverFest 2024 in Shannonbridge, supporting LYRA. In May 2025, he played two sold-out shows at Whelan’s Dublin, supporting Mark O’Donnell and Jamie McIntyre. He has also appeared at The Sound House in Dublin as part of their showcase of the best rising acts of 2025. Johnluke received support from Miriam O’Callaghan on RTÉ Radio 1, where he performed City Lovin’ and Green Eyes live in Studio 8 for a special session. He made his television debut on Virgin Media One’s The Six O’Clock Show, performing Green Eyes live as part of their “Six Sessions” feature, ahead of its official release.

Johnluke and his band will take to the stage for two headline shows celebrating the release of his debut
EP Comical Romance Vol. 1. The first kicks off in his hometown of Galway at Monroe’s Live, which will be
extra special as it also doubles as the official EP launch party. He’ll then bring the show to the iconic
Upstairs at Whelan’s in Dublin on November 1st. Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster.ie,
 venue websites, and johnlukemusic.com.
