Foy Vance – shares his new single “Know By Now”

Emmy-winning singer-songwriter Foy Vance shares his new single “Know By Now” via Rounder Records. Produced and recorded by Anderson East (Lukas Nelson, Waylon Wyatt), the track is the second preview following “Feel The Cold” of Foy’s forthcoming eighth studio album, IF.

Co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Lori McKenna, “Know By Now” finds Vance reflecting on the things we come to understand only with time – and the wisdom that comes from looking back at where we’ve been. The track captures the quiet intimacy of knowing someone deeply by recognising when they’re hurting without a word, offering a place to open up, and reminding them that they never have to question whether you’ll be there. 

“Know By Now” is part of Vance’s larger creative project, IF, where he revisited more than 100 songs he had written throughout his life, including co-writes with greats like Natalie Hemby, Gabe Simon and Ross Copperman. Rather than simply looking back at the songs as they were originally written, Vance and East reimagined them through the lens of who he is now, uncovering a new meaning in songs shaped by years of lived experience. 

Coming 30th October, IF: WE will be the first of three EPs that make up the larger album IF. Exploring the collective – how we shape one another, and how we can both find and lose ourselves in the world around us – the project ultimately unfolds as an autobiography in album form, touching on relationships, homesickness, failure, devotion, grief, longing and forgiveness. The complete album will arrive 30 April, 2027.

Vance is currently on his 60-date world tour, which includes two dates at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in October, and will continue through the US, including Los Angeles (two nights), Denver, Nashville, Chicago, Washington D.C. and New York City.
