Fortune Teller – unleash new single ‘Lucid State’ you can read our review here

Fortune Teller continue to carve out their place in modern pop punk with their latest single, ”Lucid State”, a track that balances emotional weight with the genre’s signature urgency. Known for channeling the spirit of early 2010s pop punk while injecting a fresh sense of vulnerability, the band lean into a more restrained and atmospheric sound here and the result is one of their most compelling releases to date.

From the opening moments, ”Lucid State” trades breakneck energy for tension and mood, allowing gritty, textured guitars to breathe beneath haunting melodic hooks. The slower pacing works in the song’s favour, creating space for the emotional core to fully land. The verses feel introspective and raw, gradually building toward a soaring chorus that feels both cathartic and deeply personal.

Vocalist Mason delivers a standout performance, carrying the track with sincerity and emotional clarity. His delivery elevates the lyrics, which explore themes of self-awareness, emotional limbo, and the struggle to distinguish reality from internal conflict. It’s a mature step forward that shows clear growth in songwriting confidence.

Fans of heartfelt pop punk will recognise familiar influences in the punchy instrumentation and melodic sensibilities, yet ”Lucid State” never feels derivative. Instead, Fortune Teller blend nostalgia with modern polish, creating something that feels authentic to their evolving identity.

The band describe the track as a moment where “everything just clicked,” and that sense of natural cohesion is evident throughout. ”Lucid State stands” as both a sonic departure and a defining statement proof that Fortune Teller are not only refining their sound, but discovering new emotional depth along the way.

”Lucid State” receives a well deserved 8 out of 10
