After recently signing to InsideOutMusic, ROYAL SORROW kicks off 2025 with their monumental track “Evergreen.” As the new year inspires reflection and growth, this song captures those themes with intensity and depth. Drawing influence from bands like VOLA, Sleep Token, Leprous, Tesseract, Bad Omens, Spiritbox, and Unprocessed, ROYAL SORROW delivers music designed to evoke a full spectrum of emotions.
Today marks the release of their latest single “Evergreen,” a dynamic blend of alternative metal, hypnotic riffs, and memorable melodies. The single is accompanied by a visually stunning music video directed by Altti Heinilä.
Royal Sorrow comments on this new single: “The theme of the song revolves around control. It’s very common that we as humans try to stubbornly control situations, relationships and events to the point that they become toxic and counterproductive. Control is what makes us feel secure in our own insecurities but might eventually become our own downfall. “Evergreen” is about healing from your own destructive behavior patterns–the river must flow.”
The band adds on the new single: “This second single “Evergreen” is a hypnotizing blend of heavy riffs and infectious melodies. It’s a journey that entices, hits hard and sticks with you. The conception of “Evergreen” was a little different than usual. The song started out as a soulful pop song, that Eero was writing together with Aino Tikkanen, a fellow musician from Helsinki. Eero realized that the chorus had a lot of potential for a heavier arrangement and created the riffs around it. Soon the whole song began to take shape with its lush synths, groovy guitars and extreme moments.”
