Experimental progressive metal band Benthos – release their sophomore album “From Nothing”

After teasing progressive and metal fans with a fascinating variety of singles, the sophomore album “From Nothing” by Benthos is officially out: Across 12 tracks, the band is not just captivating listens through a strong range of diversity and energetic deliveries, but are telling a thoughtful, inspiring story of humankind in its full variety. Thriving in spaces between modern progressive metal, mathcore, and post-hardcore, each single on the record highlights the band’s fearless, eclectic approach. Benthos’ “From Nothing” is for those who crave music that’s unapologetically heavy and unhinged, yet also delicately melodic, jazz-infused, and dreamlike.

“From Nothing” is Benthos’ first full record since signing with InsideOutMusic last year. Prior single releases from this record are “Fossil”“Pure”“As A Cordyceps”, and “Let Me Plunge”, alongside the album’s focus track “Perpetual Drone Monkeys”.

The band shares about the album:

“We’ve poured our souls into From Nothing, and we’re beyond excited to finally share it with you. This album pushed us to experiment with new sounds and take creative risks that brought us to personal new heights. It’s been an exhilarating journey, one that we hope you’ll connect with in your own way as it explores the complexities of the human experience–the ambiguities, the blisses, and the horrors.”

They add about the focus track “Perpetual Drone Monkeys”:

“With Perpetual Drone Monkeys, we want to show you Benthos at its rawest, most unfiltered core. The song paints the manifestation of a dystopian future in which human consciousness has completely dissolved, leaving men at the mercy of their cruelest and most primordial instincts. It’s one of the darker, more unsettling faces of From Nothing.”
